Posyandu Jalanan Harapan Fian

In 2025, Harapan Fian continued its commitment to improving community health through the Posyandu Jalanan program, focusing on urban poor communities. This program was designed to bring basic health services closer to residents who face barriers in accessing formal health facilities. Throughout the year, Posyandu Jalanan became an important entry point for building health awareness and trust within the community, especially among women and children.

The program was implemented in close collaboration with MerC Yogyakarta, whose medical expertise and support were essential to ensuring the quality of services provided. Posyandu Jalanan activities were regularly conducted in Badran and Suryowijayan villages. In each activity, approximately 50 community members benefited from health check-ups, consultations, and basic health education, making the program impactful at the grassroots level.

Beyond the on-site services, Harapan Fian emphasized follow-up actions to ensure continuity of care. The team assisted community members in accessing public health services, including referrals to Puskesmas and other government facilities. This approach helped bridge the gap between informal community-based services and the formal health system, ensuring that health issues identified during Posyandu Jalanan could be properly addressed.

The program primarily supported women and children, recognizing their central role in family and community health. In addition to health services, Harapan Fian also provided assistance in securing legal identity and social protection. In 2025, the program successfully helped 13 community members obtain legal identity documents and supported 6 people in accessing national health insurance, which are critical foundations for long-term health and social security.

In the middle of the year, Harapan Fian expanded the scope and capacity of Posyandu Jalanan by collaborating with SIHI UGM. This collaboration focused on training Posyandu Jalanan volunteers and modifying the program to include infectious disease screening. The training strengthened volunteers’ skills and knowledge, while the enhanced screening component increased early detection and prevention efforts, reinforcing Posyandu Jalanan as a responsive and adaptive community health initiative.
