Program pendidikan Harapan Fian

In 2025, Harapan Fian Yogyakarta continued its commitment to supporting children living around our basecamp through a community-based education program. The program reached around 30 children and focused on ensuring that every child had access to formal education and could attend school regularly, regardless of their social or economic challenges.

Throughout the year, the program was anchored by routine Saturday Classes, which provided academic assistance, character building, and a safe learning environment. These weekly activities helped children strengthen their learning motivation, develop basic skills, and build positive relationships with peers and facilitators.

To further support children’s learning readiness, Harapan Fian introduced regular health check-ups for children who joined the Saturday Classes. This initiative aimed to ensure that children were in good physical condition, recognizing that good health is essential to consistent school attendance and effective learning. By identifying basic health needs early, the program helped reduce health-related barriers to education.

In addition to local facilitators, Harapan Fian also hosted international student interns from ACICIS to support the implementation of the Saturday Classes. Their involvement created positive interactions through the sharing of different cultures, languages, and perspectives. This exchange enriched the learning atmosphere and helped children build confidence, curiosity, and openness toward global diversity.

Beyond routine classes, Harapan Fian organized experiential learning activities through collaboration with partners. One of the highlights in 2025 was a field trip to Kebun Tamantirto in collaboration with Voluntrip Kitabisa. This activity was part of the “Love Earth” program, which aimed to strengthen children’s environmental awareness and overall well-being through hands-on learning in a natural setting.

The “Love Earth” initiative reflected a shared commitment to creating inclusive and meaningful educational experiences for children in urban environments. By combining environmental education with recreational activities, the program encouraged children to develop a sense of responsibility toward the environment while enjoying learning beyond the classroom.

In addition, the 2025 education program provided practical support for children who faced barriers to accessing formal education. Harapan Fian assisted children who experienced difficulties with school registration due to limited financial resources, reinforcing the organization’s main goal of ensuring that every child is healthy, supported, and able to continue their education.
